Becoming a Member
Membership in DAR is accessible to any woman age 18 or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.
Comprising more than 993,000 members in chapters around the world, the women of Today’s DAR represent a diversity of religious and ethnic backgrounds and interests. What brings us together is the common bond of having an ancestor who contributed to securing this country’s independence and a dedication to honoring that heritage while striving to make a difference in our communities.
Ready to get started?
You don’t have to provide proof of lineage before contacting and visiting our chapter. We encourage prospective members first to attend one or two of our meetings to get acquainted with our organization and us. Then we’ll help you with the rest!
